After installation laptop or desktop monitor does not display

If after installation, on your computer, you reboot and your lap top does not display anything follow these steps:

• Reboot in Failsafe mode
• Login as root
• At the command prompt type: sax2 -m 0=vesa
• Sax2 will usually 'suggest' a configuration which is often optimal
• If this is good, accept it, exit sax2, and reboot (shutdown -r now)
• Otherwise, manually configure video settings and test them
• Shutdown (as above) and reboot in normal mode.
