Talk:Use Nvidia driver with Xen
From openSUSE
As by the 12st of June 2007, this solution doesn't work anymore. It has cost me 2 days and I'm more than willing to share the solution.
I think XEN is important and Nvidia is a big player in the market, so getting the X-server up under XEN is very important.
NVIDIA has changed it's nvidia-gfx-kmp-default rpm's. The newer versions don't allow compilation of the deprecated NVIDIA-Linux[_64]-x86-1.0-9631-pkg[1|2].run, with or without the patch needed to run it under XEN. This 9631 version is imho still the only version that can provide, with the patch, a working NVIDIA module for the X-server.
NVIDIA's downloadsite download.nvidia.com did not keep a copy of the older RPMs, however, some mirrors do.
The solution however is very simple: simply install the older rpms and you can compile the patched 9631 version to create a useable module under XEN.
