Hello, I was just going through the PORTAL PAGE,and i thought that i could be of some use to the Topic,So is there any task for which I'll eligible ,as i want to help for the betterment of the PORTAL page?Looking for a kind support -- Shayon

Updating Portal pages is manual job. When I think about Checked Pages, as you mentioned once, it can be equally effective to simply put them in a Portal, but without checked, not checked remarks, then find maintainers for sections of portal and let them keep stuff up to date. The idea how to present pages should be refined. Some sketch how that can look is on Portal New, but lack of time and small interest of visitors to give, at least comments, didn't help me to develop idea further. -- Rajko

In my opinion the topic Alphabetical index should be replaced with Alphabetical Search index and a new topic should be introduced which would contain the topics/articles(which are checked)from the openSUSE:Checked pages In the New Portal Page.Also few more editings are required(to the New portal) compared to the Existing portal page ?? --Shayon

Alphabetical Search Index is contradiction in itself. It is either search or index, can't be both.

The concept of checking all pages, just to read fast trough and put mark "checked" on them seems a bit work without goal. While I was for idea, as it goes now, it brings nothing essential to make sure that content is not only marked as seen by one of editors, but also that article get other remarks and classification in categories that are necessary. That part is work in progress discussed on opensuse-wiki@opensuse.org and Boosters_Team/Projects/Discoverable_centralised_documentation.

I would stop checks for now, and focus on improving Portal layout, update with new articles, see do we have some existing Portals that are not included, so that we have something presentable for the main page (frontpage). If you find some page that has word "portal" in the name and is not in the Portal page please include it. For such pages there is no need to create subpage, just add them to the main Portal page.
