Talk:Package Repositories
From openSUSE
Is anybody else having issues with the DVD Download via HTTP? I downloaded it successfully but it fails the CRC check during the install. I tried dowloading & installing it twice and the results were consistent.
Where is the Java repository for the development version?
Here (http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-OSS-edge/inst-source-java/ ) it's not.
I would think you could use http://suse.mirrors.tds.net/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-stable/inst-source-java/ --CuCullin 15:37, 13 Dec 2005 (MST)
EDIT: shouldn't this page be I added a note regarding a merge with Additional_YaST_Package_Repositories. Its a much more complete listing, and contains some of the same info. --CuCullin 17:59, 13 Dec 2005 (MST)
My 2 cents: I think the Package_Repositories - openSUSE needs to remain simple so it can be easily translated. Also, so that only official sources can be used there but the Additional_YaST_Package_Repositories can have many unofficial sources. --fhj52
I think there should be two pages as well -- official and unofficial Yast sources. It seems important to keep them clearly seperate

I have a slight preference for keeping two pages, but it should be made clear what the difference is. Something like maintained by the SUSE/Novell team and maintained by by third parties.

Deleted. duh! Help forums are that-a-way --->
No merge... just editing.
I really think we should get this out of the way since it has apparently been going on for quite a while. Merging the pages would put a lot of critical information in one central page but in keeping two separate pages it would give a better sense of organization.
No merge would be okay as long as some critical edits are made in order to keep the information easy to find. The Additional YaST Package Repositories page says at the top that it is a list of currently existing third-party YaST repositories so it should not cite the official repositories. It should link to the Package Repositories page in an easy to find location; possibly at the top with an explanation of the difference.
I have no problem making these changes myself. I'll wait and see if anyone says anything first.

Gnome Stable 10.0 repository
Should the link for this be deleted, as the directory seems to be dead? Sjb2812 15:05, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
Broken Repository URL
I get a 404 for http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.2/repo/oss/ Please replace this with http://mirrors.kernel.org/opensuse/distribution/10.2/repo/oss/
The mirroring system used at download.opensuse.org is bad. I have ALWAYS had problems with it in the past. Can someone PLEASE fix it.
