Talk:POWER@SUSE
From openSUSE
I think the name of the page is not good, confusing with SUPER suse. May be rename it to PPC POWER ? jdd
In my opion: No. SUPER is pretty much dead anyway. -Msmeissn
Anyone have OpenSUSE on Powerbooks ?
Why is it so quiet here? There's so much noise at Fedora, yet I can't make my trackpad work with Fedora.
Yes, people are using it on Powerbooks. -Msmeissn
32bits and 64bits versions ?
Is OpenSuse10 for PowerPC delivered with 32bits and 64bits versions ?
I saw nothing about that. And the SLES10 DVDs for PowerPC are delivered only with a 64bits version.
Yes. It is one version with 32bit userland, but with a 64bit kernel and 64bit capabale GCC and libraries.
So you can run both 32biot and 64bit binaries on it. I think we have 32bit kernels too for older hardware. -Msmeissn
I have a 233 mhz IMAC I believe its a G3 (maybe G2) I would like to know where to find the info on what cpu, memory ... is required to run the ppc version of openSuSe before I get it (If I could get it to work on my imac). I am also looking into YDL (Yellow Dog Linux) but I like SuSe (I use the pc version) so I had to look at the PPC version but I cant find the info help would be nice.
thanks
