Talk:OpenSUSE & SUSE Linux confusion
From openSUSE

- The important reason for my vote is the simplicity in maintaining only one set of DVD/CD ISOs, FTP tree etc - as it is, the FTP tree forking into opensuse and suse and subfolders are difficult to understand and navigate.
- Add, however, a note to the installation first screen saying: "The opensource packages are developed by the openSUSE community project sponsored by Novell, and the non-opensource packages are released by Novell under permission from their original creators." That should make it clear.
- Give the user the choice: "Would you like to install opensource packages only? This will make packages like <add list here> unavailable.".
- Update and make more navigable the suse.com website! It's horrible to look at (in terms of navigability) and seriously out of date!

- Let the project be openSUSE, and the product be SUSE Linux x.y.
- Make free (as in freedom) packages the default installation choice. Make none free packages available as an option, saying something like
Novell has permission to distribute these additional packages from their original creators. If you want to study, change or distribute these packages, you must contact the original creators and get their permission.
