Talk:Multiple Screens Using XRandR
From openSUSE
This page totally pays no respect to the X definition of a Display vs Screen. I LOVE what xrandr has done for my projector presentations, but I'm equally sad that it doesn't support two displays yet (this is almost a regression back to what Windows users have been stuck with - and still are).
I think the wording needs to be changed. Use display where you can have two separate window managers (can't drag windows across but on the other hand you can have separate workspaces on each display) and screen for (partial) output of a display. Xrandr works with ONE virtual display, and several screens. (Might help to think of the DISPLAY env variable.)

Page moved
Hi Fredrik, unfortunately i have no way of contacting you, so i hope you read this ;)
I moved the page and edited it and i hope it is better now wrt. terminology. If still find things wrong, don't hesitate to fix them by just editing the page.
Note that i have thrown in some words ("dualhead setup" for example) just that people find the page with their search phrases.
Thanks, Stefan
