Talk:Making a DVD from CDs
From openSUSE
I am willing to merge. Please tell me how this can be done. I would like it all to be as generic as possible.

Adding more RPMs to the DVD?
I'm wondering if one could add other RPMs to the DVD before burning it, possibly before creating yasts package list. If that where possible, one could download the stuff missing from the CDs (like cyrus-imapd) and provide for a smooth upgrade from 9.3
Yes, you can even add your own RPMs. -Msmeissn
script is fine for linux users ...
but what of those hundreds of millions who are trying to switch to SUSE from Windows? How do I make a DVD from the five CD isos, under Windows?
-If you're switching from windows, you will want to use an official final version suse. For such a version, you can either use the suse eval dvd, or the opensuse dvd (coming out with 10.1.) -MikeDeP333
"create_package_descr" not in SUSE Linux 10.0
The recipe for manually making a DVD from the CD ISO's includes the command "create_package_descr". However, this seems not to be available in SUSE Linux 10.0.
But I found it here: http://www.suse.com/~ug/tools/create_package_descr
Is there any possibilities were we can intergrate the service packs with this DVD image.
Is there any possibilities were we can intergrate the service packs with this DVD image.
Will this work for SLED/SLES 10?
I hope it can.
Yes, but you are not supposed to do so ... Why do you think you will need it? -Msmeissn
Include Updates
Can I include all Updates using the command for "add additional rpm's"?
