Talk:Libzypp/Refactoring/Implementation/Refresh
From openSUSE
- keep it simple like debian, manual refresh only.
- if people want autorefresh they should setup a nightly cron job
- autorefresh more than once a day does not make too much sense.

IMO, auto-refresh should be on by default (once every day or even week). A non-geek user can not be expected to setup nightly cron process. Auto-refresh is important, otherwise users will see "the package does not exist in the repository". I don't see why asynchronous auto-refresh every night can be bad. Auto-refresh should NOT take place every time the user opens YaST software management.
