Talk:Installing Xen3

Hello,

Tried to follow this howto, but got stucked. I'm missing "/boot/initrd-xen" so, when i get to grub at line "module /boot/initrd-xen" i get an "file missing" error.

Care to shade some light on this ?

I started with a fresh, by-the-defaults minimal graphic system install, then started in on the Howto. I failed at the same point you did. So I removed those packages, thus:

rpm -e xen-tools-ioemu-3.0_8800-1.1

rpm -e xen-devel-3.0_8800-1.1

rpm -e xen-tools-3.0_8800-1.1

rpm -e xen-3.0_8800-1.1

And fell back to what Suse is shipping:

yast --install kernel-xen kernel-xen-nongpl xen xen-devel xen-tools xen-tools-ioemu

Which got me back on track, it would appear that the Suse shipped packages are not all that buggy after all ;)
