Additional comments for the procedure for installing the bootloader correctly (from the old article):
FunkyM This is wrong. I am using GRUB on all my Macbooks. You have to skip the bootloader install step and when the system reboots use the rEFIT GPT/MBR synctool. Afterwards boot the system using the install medium. Once the remaining installation has finished and the system is running re-run the bootloader setup with Yast which will now work (with lilo or grub or whatever you like).
Felixmoeller2 Thanks for the tip, I will have a look at ot after the lilo bug is fixed. So grub probably just doesn't install as the MBR does not have the new partition yet.

The described procedure also mostly works for an iMac 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo; see User:Keichwa/Installation on iMac (draft!). Either the some rEFIt menu labels have changed lately (version 0.10) or you use them here not literary. After syncing MBR/GPT it seems to be necessary to restart before you can actually boot from DVD or hard disk. --Keichwa 07:41, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
