Talk:Installation
From openSUSE
JFS is missing as an available filesystem to be used during installation.
10.2 installation
I downloaded the (normal) boot CD, burnt it and started the installation process, thinking I could later on choose the source for the other iso images or (preferrable) only needed packages via ftp... After finishing installation from the boot disk, rebooting and continuing setup yast asks for the source of the next image (cd:///?devices=/dev/hdc./dev/hdd)! At that point I don't get any help for the possible syntax of another file source... I mounted the second iso via loop on /mnt and tried something like cd:///?devices=/mnt and file:///?devices=/dev - didn't work.
My questions:
- Is there something like file:///device?/dev/hda/... and determination of the location of the second/third download iso file ?
- Or ftp://ftp.idontknowwhat.org/pub/linux/opensuse/... ?
- Or is this only possible with that mini-cd ?
- Or am I really obliged to burn at least two other cds?
I know the little spblinux (http://spblinux.sourceforge.net/) which is really very flexible and very small and would love to have an installation system based on such small and flexible base system for installing opensuse too. --Katpatuka 11:31, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
