The thing I, like may other people, would like to see is a Roaming Linux Profile. If nothing more than a cp command between a samba server and the client during log-on/log-off. Using Kerberos and scp, may be a good solution. Allow kerberos to authenticate the machine and LDAP to authenticate the user and samba to hold the profile share to pull/pust files from/too. M$ has that going for it. And thier implamentation of roaming profiles works well and if the profile on the server is dead, it can still push the copy on the client back to the server to rebuild upon log-off.
