Squeegee/Meetings/20090306

From openSUSE

Meeting Minutes

06 March 2009

Attendees: Cameron, Max

Status / Current Efforts

Squeegee is slowly moving along.

  • Squeegee appliance is built.. but not including all pieces yet.
  • Working on tying in build service packages into the appliance
  • Waiting on some updates to the susestudio for working behind a proxy.
  • We still need to finalize a logo. See 'Logo' below.

Next Steps / Phases

  • Once the above is complete we can work on expanding and adding to the appliance. This will mean more development work, creation of reporting packages, additional YaST components, etc.. which we will discuss later on.
  • Also, once we have an image created from susestudio we can have some of you do some testing either in VMware, Xen, Virtual Box or other methods.

Decisions

  • We decided to schedule meetings 3 weeks out while we have these dependencies. However, Cameron will provide weekly email updates on any progress / barriers / etc. to keep us all in the know. All project team members are encouraged to do the same.

Logo

From our last threads on logo concept, we agreed on the following concept elements:

  • Computer screen
  • Actual squeegee
  • Squeegee swiping the screen
  • Squeegee to look absolutely like squeegee (not windshield wiper or other)

That's based on current concept directions. Cameron will open a thread on this and we can explore any further ideas, but it's time to lock this in and let Robb work his magic.

Actions

  • (Cameron) Re-open email thread on Logo.
  • (Cameron) Explore Yast Developer recruiting
  • (Cameron / all project team) Provide frequent email updates on the email list. Any small steps, updates on bugs, updates on dependencies, etc.
