SDB:NTFS resize using gparted
From openSUSE
Version: 10.1
[edit]
Situation
During installation, resizing of NTFS partition fails with error -3027.
[edit]
Solution
Gparted (Gnome partition editor) is capable of handling NTFS-formatted hard drives. It is also possible to set up a complete partioning scheme for future Linux installations.
Download gparted Live CD from the this web site:
- or Parted Magic fork of GParted Live CD with more tools
Burn the iso image on a CD and then boot from that CD. Gparted will start automatically. Resize.
If repartitioning fails, open the "details" tab. Gparted may instruct you to boot into Windows, and issue from run prompt:
chkdsk /f
Follow instructions in Windows, and then boot again Gparted CD.
Now you should be able to install openSUSE on the created free space.
