SDB:Missing options in Log Out menu

Symptom

Only "End Current Session" is displayed in the KDE Log Out menu. Options for restarting or turning off the computer are missing. Symptoms are similar in GNOME.

Cause

The login manager is erroneously set to something other than kdm or gdm.

Solution

Run /etc/sysconfig Editor in YaST.

Change the value at Desktop/Display manager/DISPLAYMANAGER to kdm for KDE or gdm for GNOME.

The change will take effect after a reboot.
