Installation on a Medion MD41300

To install OpenSuSE on a Medion MD41300 Notebook you need to enter the following Installation Options in the Splashscreen of the DVD/CD

noapic apic=off

Only with this Options the Installationprogramm can be loaded and the Notebook does not freeze anymore.

Stabilize the System if it is unstable or freezes on a MD41300

(This is also valid for 10.0 and 10.1)

If you have problems after the Installation, you need to disable Hyper Threading in the BIOS of the Medion MD41300. To be able to do this you need to press the F2 Key as soon as you see the Intel Logo during the Bootprocess. Then you switch to the Advanced Options with the Arrow Keys (left and right). There you choose the Option Hyper Threading Technology with the Arrow Key (down) and press the F5 Key to set it to disabled. Now you can exit the BIOS with F10 and a Confirmation. From Now on OpenSuSE should run smoothly as usual.
