Repository List Proposal
This is a proposal for the easy-to-enable repository list for openSUSE 10.3
[edit]
Objective
Select a list of repositories to be easily enabled in yast > software > Community Repositories
[edit]
Current list
10.3 Main Repo OSS 10.3 Main Repo non-OSS Factory Gnome:Community Factory Hamradio Factory KDE:Community Factory Main repo DEBUG Factory Mozilla
[edit]
Criteria
- Popular repos, that people would like to enable
- Stable repos (at least minimally)
- Relevant repos
- Hardware support providing repos
- Repos providing codecs, multimedia stuff (not sure if its needed, cause
people would need packman anyway
- Extra criteria provided by Dirk
- are not automatically pulled in (e.g. reverse requires) - do not interdepent on other packages in the same repo - do not replace or conflict with any package shipped with 10.3.

Categories
To keep with the prefixes (or tags, or groups, could be used to make submenus) in the original list, Ive came with this list:
- Official: for the main OSS, non-OSS, debug repos
- Server: For server stuff that people like to have (extra php modules, for example)
- Hardware: repos that enhances hardware support
- GUI Repositories: for KDE, gnome, XFCE, compiz
- Software: Generic Stuff, that doesnt fit in the previous categories

Repository candidates
This is it, what you were waiting.
With those considerations, I came with this list here, for a start:
PS: Some repos may not fill all the requisites to be here, but heck, I thought it would be a good idea.
