Packages

From openSUSE

Packages in Linux distribution referres to software packages. That are single files that contain one or more programs, configuration scripts and files. SUSE is using RPM files to distribute software packages.

Installation, update and removal is handled natively by YaST (Yet another Setup Tool) module Software Management, but for command line users can be done using RPM native rpm program that is included in SUSE distribution.

Package lists

• SDB:Different Packages Included on the Source_Media is plain text listing valid for version 8.2
• SDB:Additional Packages on the SUSE LINUX 9.2 DVD but it contains link to current version too.

• Package Wishlist You may add packages that you find useful to this list. Please check first the list of all packages and the FTP-Repository before adding something.
