POWER@SUSE
From openSUSE
This is the start page for all the POWER/PPC-related stuff at openSUSE.
No more "Official" support for POWER/PPC on openSUSE.

Concerning the status of POWER/PPC Support for openSUSE 11.2 since no media was available:
"we (Novell/SUSE employees) won't provide a ppc distribution anymore. The effort for such a code stream is not justified by 0.3% out of all installations (see Distribution of architecture at http://en.opensuse.org/Statistics). Nevertheless we will support anyone who'd like to take over the task to build an openSUSE ppc distribution."
For those interested in trying to continue to use openSUSE on POWER/PPC, please check out the opensuse-ppc@opensuse.org mailing list.
POWER/PPC was officially supported by S.u.S.E. until v7.3 with a boxed set. When openSUSE was created after the aquisition by Novell, POWER/PPC support was brought back with version 10.0. The last offical openSUSE POWER/PPC release is 11.1. SLES (SuSE Linux Enterprise Server) Support is still planned.
Later we focused on the POWER hardware from IBM and released only server products like SLES7, SLES8, SLES9 and SLES10.
All these products were in internal use also on our Apple hardware. Unfortunately, we were not able to release these products officially to the public. Now we are back!
