OpenSUSE-Medical is an sub-project, provided and driven by the Community. In the first openSUSE conference in 2009, the Community came up with the idea to make a distribution for Doctors and Medical Personnel.

General As part of the openSUSE project, we fully support the guiding principles and goals of the project as a whole. In addition we wish to:
- Support Doctor's practice and clinics using openSUSE
- Create the best distribution for medical use ;-)
- Create a positive community atmosphere throughout openSUSE
- Contribute to improving openSUSE as whole
- Promotion
Goals for the desktop
- Create and describe additional software-packages for an educational desktop.
- Create a "Live" CD for the regular openSUSE distribution.
- Create and maintain a repository of desktop applications for educators Repositories
Goals for the server
- Create and describe additional software-packages for servers in educational environments.
- To create and maintain a repository of applications for administration Repositories
We're searching for motivated people who will package with us. We have created a Mailing List. If you want to join our Team, you can send an Email to Sascha Manns or Subscribe to the Mailinglist. After that, you can add yourself to the OpenSUSE-Medical Project Team. For our new Packagers we listed some important New-Packager Tips into our List.
