NVidia framebuffer console HOWTO

If you encounter problems with the framebuffer console (if you switch to console with Ctrl+Alt+F* and/or the shutdown splash screen the screen gets distorted) after installing the NVidia graphics drivers then:

• Open Yast, choose 'system'/'boot configuration'
• Select the 'suse linux' section if it's not already done and click 'modify'
• Place 'VGA Mode' on 'Text mode'
• Close all and reboot.

This bug should be fixed in NVidia driver 100.14.19.
