North East Linux Fest 2012 (NELF)
The North East Linux Fest experienced major growth compared to the event in the previous year. This was only the second year the event was organized. Despite the major growth the event was still pretty small. The event took place at Worcester State University in Worcester Massachusetts.
There were about 8 tables representing various projects, Fedora, Debian, and FreeBSD were represented as well. Traffic was light for most of the day as most participants attended the talks that were scheduled throughout the day. All talks are available online and can be found here.
For the day I brought a laptop that is a bit on the "oldish" side to allow people to run the Live systems on the install DVD or run an install test. A couple of people took advantage of this.
The pictures below show our new banner, the table I had setup and a view of "the crowd".
All in all it was a fun day and I also found some time to work on the OpenNebula packages and image build configuration. Next year the event will move to Cambridge (MA) which should draw a bigger crowd.
