17:59 @<henne> The topics for this meeting are:
17:59 <aka_druid_> right on time, woo
17:59 @<henne> 0. Old Action Items
17:59 @<henne> 1. Status Questions
17:59 @<henne> 2. Questions & Answers wiki/channel
17:59 @<henne> Lets go!

Old Action Items

17:59 @<henne> First Topic: Old Action Items
18:00 @<henne> you can find the list of action items in bugzilla
18:00 @<henne> http://tinyurl.com/2zgf3w
18:00 <dirk> calvin: http://websvn.kde.org/tags/KDE/3.5.5/kdebase/kdmlib/dmctl.cpp?revision=591452&view=markup
18:00 <dirk> calvin: EOT
18:00 @<henne> localhorst: 164757 - SDB/Howto clarification
18:01 @<henne> has an ETA of 08.31., we have 09.12. :)
18:01 <localhorst> nope, no time .. and i will not say "next friday" ... when it's done .. top of my list
18:01 @<henne> okay
18:02 @<henne> adrianS: same state for trust/rating system right?
18:02 @<henne> #164761
18:02 * henne kicks adrianS
18:03 <adrianS> henne: right ... just that the user directory is about to get ready
18:03 <adrianS> so we will have a place to store this information soon
18:03 <adrianS> but there is no timeframe for the build service integration yet
18:03 @<henne> michl19: what about the shop? #173961
18:04 <michl19> I start the discussion on the ml
18:04 @<henne> you wanted to start a discussion about which items to sell on the project mailinglist
18:04 @<henne> now? :)
18:05 <michl19> I start it now
18:05 <aka_druid_> opensuse thongs
18:05 @<henne> adrianS: any news on the fate front? #223290
18:05 <adrianS> no ...
18:05 <adrianS> dragotin: anything to add ?
18:05 <dragotin> urgs
18:05 @<henne> okay :(
18:05 <michl19> we found another provider you could be used: spreadshirt.de
18:06 <michl19> but they ship currently only EMEA and not NA
18:06 @<henne> michl19: 2 shops sounds stupid
18:06 <michl19> that's 100% correct
18:06 @<henne> eheh
18:06 <michl19> but spreadshirt is nicer
18:06 @<henne> why?
18:06 <michl19> I asked them if they plan to ship to NA but haven't reveived an answer yet
18:07 @<henne> michl19: but spreadshirt sounds like t-shirts only
18:07 <michl19> if the plan to ship to NA we'd go probably with them
18:07 @<henne> at least from the frontpage
18:07 <michl19> but it isn't
18:07 @<henne> ah okay
18:08 @<henne> dragotin: if you have anything to add because of fate do it in the AI in bugzilla please
18:08 <dragotin> sure
18:08 <dragotin> there is nothing to add atm
18:08 <dragotin> unfortunately :-(
18:08 @<henne> adrianS: what about the BS->Bugzilla connection? #229213
18:08 <adrianS> no progress since last week
18:09 @<henne> can you give a arrival estimate? :)
18:09 <adrianS> maybe 1-2 month
18:09 <cooloF> hi
18:10 @<henne> okay
18:10 @<henne> localhorst: the situation with the unmaintained wikis? did you talk to the maintainers? #238350
18:11 <localhorst> because of the new skin we talk to them anyway ... see opensuse-wiki ...
18:11 <localhorst> but dont close it
18:11 @<henne> okay so whats the status there?
18:11 <localhorst> i will wait until monday for translations, if nothing comes back i will ask again ...
18:11 @<henne> okay
18:11 <localhorst> if then nothing comes back we need probably new maintainers
18:12 <localhorst> or aditional ones
18:12 @<henne> and did you find out how to name the chinese wiki? ;) #238355
18:12 <localhorst> lets wait for a little more feedback, but imho it should be wikipedia style
18:13 @<henne> please update the content of the AI in bugzilla then
18:13 <localhorst> yes
18:13 @<henne> what means wait a little more? like a week?
18:13 <localhorst> because i'm on the road next week, yes
18:14 @<henne> okay
18:14 @<henne> and @opensuse.org addresses localhorst? #267437
18:14 <localhorst> uhm
18:15 <localhorst> nothing ... i have to kick adrian
18:15 <adrianS> this belongs to user directory again
18:15 @<henne> okay
18:15 <localhorst> iirc the infrastructure is not there yet ... right?
18:15 <adrianS> not in the absolute near future
18:15 <adrianS> do we have a pressure here  ?
18:15 <localhorst> imho it's nice to have
18:15 <localhorst> not more
18:15 <apokryphos> I think it's a must have
18:16 <localhorst> a nice must to have :-)
18:16 <adrianS> apokryphos: can you give some reasons for that ?
18:16 <apokryphos> no kittens will die if it's not done soon, but I do think it's important to keep onto the plans ;)
18:16 <adrianS> I can see that esp board members might need it soon ...
18:16 <localhorst> apokryphos: +1
18:17 <apokryphos> adrianS: email addresses are one of the clearest methods of noticing association
18:17 <localhorst> do we really have to talk about why? i thought we are over it
18:18 <adrianS> well, why it is urgent was my question
18:18 <apokryphos> people who genuinely contribute to openSUSE should have some type of 'official openSUSE community member' status, so they get acknowledgement. People tend to like this ;)
18:18 @<henne> because the board will come in the near future :)
18:18 <adrianS> I can imagine a number of reasons why we should have it in general ;)
18:18 <michl19> and pretty soon as well
18:18 <aka_druid_> not urgent, what is urgent is michl19 saying who are the members of the board, cause we made bets and stuff...
18:19 <apokryphos> yeah, not the most urgent thing for sure 8)
18:19 @<henne> okay
18:19 <adrianS> okay, lets postpone it for now
18:19 @<Beineri> aka_druid_: stuff? vodoo dolls?
18:19 <adrianS> I will try to get it into the OBS roadmap ...
18:19 @<henne> #281622: the moving of some packages from the prague packagers is still waiting for vladimirs comment. i just pinged him again
18:20 @<henne> #293726: Babel wiki. localhorst?
18:20 <localhorst> postponed, no time
18:20 <localhorst> no est. time
18:21 @<henne> okay
18:21 @<henne> cboltz: will you be here after the meeting?
18:21 <cboltz> If the meeting doesn't take too long, yes
18:21 @<henne> okay then we can sort out #309085
18:21 @<henne> did i forget any action item?
18:22 <cboltz> Status of the "online help" icon in Gnome?
18:22 @<Beineri> who organizes the release party? :-)
18:22 <cboltz> And translations of help.o.o?
18:22 @<henne> those are not action items you morons :P
18:22 @<henne> ask that in the status sections

Status Questions

18:23 @<henne> okay next topic: Status Questions
18:23 @<henne> i heard Beineri wants to know about the release party and cboltz wants to know the status of help.o.o
18:24 <aka_druid_> is h.o.o frozen so we can start translation?
18:24 <dragotin> henne: my hero - you dare to ask ;-)
18:24 <adrianS> aka_druid_: ask sPiN
18:24 @<henne> cboltz: larry checked in the icons for gnome this week
18:24 @<henne> appparently its not to easy to do that in gnome 8)
18:24 <adrianS> aka_druid_: he owns help.o.o, however, I dunno if there es a mechanism for other languages yet ...
18:24 * aka_druid_ will kick sPiN- instead
18:25 @<henne> how long will we need for translations?
18:26 @<henne> where is martin if you need him...
18:26 <cooloF> in the smokers room!
18:26 @<henne> not that martin
18:26 <aka_druid_> few time. We (the irc people) said we would provide all the main translations, to not bother the translators... Its really 4 or paragraphs only
18:27 @<henne> hm okay. but that means the deadline is the first week of october
18:27 @<Beineri> for mechanism earlier
18:27 <adrianS> well, we can add it also after 10.3 release
18:27 <aka_druid_> no prob
18:27 @<henne> aka_druid_: please tell sPiN- that while kicking him
18:28 @<henne> Beineri: why?
18:28 <aka_druid_> henne: sure
18:28 <cooloF> that reminds me: we need to define the list of community repos. Can I have a volunteer to define the criteria?
18:28 @<Beineri> henne: so that we don't and with translations but no way to switch/show them? :-)
18:28 @<Beineri> end
18:28 <apokryphos> Beineri: that can always be done by web magic
18:29 @<Beineri> apokryphos: that's what we're talking about, or?
18:29 @<henne> apokryphos: yes but it has to be done in TIME by web magic. thats the point :)
18:29 <aka_druid_> apokryphos: index.html.en index.html.es etc wont do?
18:29 <cooloF> no volunteer for me?
18:29 <apokryphos> henne: surely they could work all the way up to the deadline?
18:29 <aka_druid_> cooloF: I would volunteer apokryphos for that
18:29 * aka_druid_ runs
18:30 <apokryphos> cooloF: what criteria do you mean?
18:30 @<henne> no. because the icons point to /
18:30 @<henne> aka_druid_: so tell sPiN- also that!
18:30 <cooloF> apokryphos: we obviously can't list them all and the current ones are just a kickstart
18:30 <apokryphos> henne: you can easily have redirects forcing you to another page depending on the system lanague
18:30 <aka_druid_> henne: will do, will do
18:30 <cooloF> apokryphos: I'm talking about the yast module
18:30 <apokryphos> ah, right
18:30 <apokryphos> criteria: popular and well maintained ;)
18:31 <adrianS> and not affecting distro packages ....
18:31 <apokryphos> X11:XGL would be nice to include
18:31 @<henne> cooloF: you really should ask that on opensuse
18:31 <aka_druid_> I would say the stable ones and the ones providing hardware support (webcam, wireless)
18:31 <cooloF> adrianS: not affecting distro packages is a bit asked too much :)
18:31 @<henne> cooloF: users might have different preferences then the developer knuckleheads :)
18:31 <adrianS> cooloF: well in a defined way ;)
18:32 <cooloF> henne: I can't - opensuse is a subscribtion only list... :)
18:32 <aka_druid_> henne: they are users, they should accept what is imposed
18:32 <cooloF> henne: that's why I'm asking here for a volunteer and not for criteria
18:32 <cooloF> we can also volunteer cb400f and be done
18:32 @<henne> cooloF: youre subscribed now
18:32 <localhorst> hehe
18:32 <aka_druid_> cooloF: ok, I will volunteer me, then
18:33 <aka_druid_> cooloF: is it to make a list of repo candidates, right?
18:33 <cooloF> aka_druid: yes. But the list needs to follow transparent criteria or we 'll get in trouble
18:33 <aka_druid_> ok
18:33 <cooloF> aka_druid: thanks
18:34 <apokryphos> http://build.opensuse.org/Statistics can help
18:34 <cyberorg> aka_druid, i may have one recommendation soon
18:34 <cooloF> we can change the list later, btw. But we need to have a better default for RC1 I think
18:35 @<henne> AI: aka_druid define criteria and list of community repos
18:35 * henne switches cboltz on
18:35 <aka_druid_> apokryphos: does it have repos that are "hot", like packman?
18:35 @<henne> okay. any other questions regarding the status of the distro, communication or buildservice?
18:36 <apokryphos> aka_druid_: sure, see http://build.opensuse.org/statistics/most_downloaded?more=true&limit=25 (most downloaded)
18:36 * henne actualy has one
18:36 <aka_druid_> henne: Id like to know who are the community board members. As Ive said, Ive placed bets on that
18:36 <adrianS> the statistics are 1 month outdated JFYI
18:36 @<henne> aka_druid_: not done yet as far as i know. michl19?
18:36 <cooloF> henne: AI adrianS provide uptodate stats :)
18:36 <adrianS> but not wrong ;)
18:36 <bauersman> adrianS: only download statistics
18:37 @<henne> can we update them?
18:37 <adrianS> we can do so next week, I think
18:37 @<henne> okay
18:37 <adrianS> kuddle is working on that
18:37 <cooloF> adrianS: who?
18:37 @<henne> whoever that is...
18:37 <dragotin> cool: mkudlvasr
18:37 <cooloF> adrianS: is that our $NOONE? :)
18:38 <bauersman> mkudlvasr
18:38 @<henne> heh okay
18:38 @<henne> question: michl19 what about "lange nacht der wissenschaften?"
18:38 @<henne> localhorst?
18:39 <michl19>  :'(
18:39 <localhorst> nothing
18:39 @<henne> they already did put up signs
18:39 <cooloF> ok, no questions for me? Then I'll head back to testing updates. Cu
18:39 <dragotin> last year we skipped that due to location problems
18:39 <michl19> lange Nacht der Wissenschaft without our participation
18:39 * adrianS is getting realy hungry ......
18:39 <localhorst> this year to
18:39 <cboltz> FYI: AI 309920 - define criteria and list of community repos
18:39 @<henne> gah so we miss it again?
18:39 @<henne> cool....
18:39 <michl19> same this year and due to lacking internal support
18:40 <localhorst> we talked about it, but no room
18:40 @<henne> geez....
18:40 <dirk> michl19: was there a mail posted at all internally? can't remember one
18:40 <AJaeger> michl19: When is next years lange nacht? We should be able to join! I'll take care of getting a room...
18:40 <localhorst> dirk: no, just a few where involved
18:40 <michl19> don't know
18:40 @<henne> AJaeger: probably not fixed yet. but its alway in october afair
18:40 <michl19> we can even try to do it this year
18:40 <dragotin> AJaeger: afaik it's always in october
18:41 <michl19> we just need to be creative
18:41 <localhorst> rotfl
18:41 <AJaeger> thanks for the info...
18:41 <michl19> and do it for example on aj's balcony
18:41 @<henne> michl19: well the question is if we can still participate
18:41 <dragotin> michl19: you have an eigenheim, right?
18:41 <michl19> :-)
18:41 <localhorst> bla bla... go on pls
18:41 @<henne> yes
18:42 <localhorst> i will take care of it tomorow
18:42 @<henne> you will take care of what tomorrow?
18:42 <localhorst> yes
18:42 @<henne> wtf
18:42 <localhorst> lange nacht bla blub
18:42 @<henne> this year or next year?
18:42 <localhorst> both
18:42 @<henne> hm okay
18:43 <adrianS> bye
18:43 @<henne> so any other questions regarding the status?
18:43 @<henne> .o0( statusse? statutissimi? staten? )
18:43 @<henne> okay. any general questions about stuff?
18:44 @<henne> there are no questions on the wiki
18:44 @<henne> not?
18:44 <cboltz> Is someone working on updating the YaST2 apparmor modules?
18:44 <cboltz> They don't support the new apparmor features yet...
18:45 @<henne> dom is fixing bugs afaik
18:45 <darix> cboltz: lets see if i can reach dominic
18:45 <cboltz> bug 305735, no response yet
18:45 <bugbot> openSUSE bug 305735 in openSUSE 10.3 (AppArmor) "YaST - edit AppArmor profile does not allow new features" [Major,New] https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=305735
18:45 <AJaeger> cboltz: I ask Dom.
18:46 @<henne> well judging from what i know they are aware of it
18:46 @<henne> and if you want a status update on a bug ask in bugzilla
18:46 @<henne> :)
18:47 @<henne> anything else?
18:47 * cboltz knows that some people are not very responsive in bugzilla...
18:47 @<henne> well people schedule and you might not always come first dude ;)
18:48 <localhorst> put some random ppl in cc: that helps
18:48 @<henne> heh
18:48 <cboltz> like you? *g*
18:48 @<henne> okay so nothing else?
18:48 <localhorst> hehe

User directory

18:48 @<henne> adrianS: i take it you are too hungry to talk about the userdir right?
18:49 @<henne> or darix
18:49 <dirk> henne: he's away from irc right now
18:49 @<henne> darix?
18:50 <darix> uhm
18:50 @<henne> uhm what? :)
18:50 <darix> i am shy. :p
18:50 @<henne> what is it? where can i see it? why do we do this?
18:51 <darix> henne: you cant see it (yet) :)
18:51 * henne pats michl19
18:51 <localhorst> we are working on it, it's a userdirectory, it's not public yet, we need it for various things
18:51 <darix> what is it? hm ... a website where we want to store informations shared among our sites.
18:52 <darix> in the first phase you can login there with your bugzilla account and show your support for the guiding principles.
18:52 <darix> later on you can request freenode cloaks there. opensuse.org mail addresses.
18:53 <darix> and we are evaluating openid support for it
18:53 <darix> so you can use your ichain account to authenicate via openid
18:53 @<henne> cool
18:53 @<henne> is there any ETA for it?
18:53 <dirk> does that mean we can replace ichain with openid in the future (for the buildservice)?
18:54 <darix> dirk: that is one of the options.
18:54 @<henne> darix: or is it already in the svn or something? :)
18:54 <darix> henne: phase 1 goes public with the release of the guiding principles
18:54 <darix> the other stages as time permits
18:54 <apokryphos> darix: will it also be used for everyone's "user page" - I think that would be really great to have, especially if people have info on it
18:54 <dirk> darix: that would be extremely overcool
18:54 <darix> dirk: i know :D
18:54 <apokryphos> on news.o.o I always have to talk about people who don't have any reasonable wiki page or site to link to ;)
18:54 <darix> apokryphos: yes.
18:55 <apokryphos> nice stuff :-)
18:55 <darix> apokryphos: but i want to avoid to create an opensuse facebook alike
18:55 <darix> so it will not allow much free text
18:55 <aka_druid_> myspace craze!
18:55 <darix> but you can point to your blog/wiki page e.g.
18:55 @<henne> music everywhere!
18:55 <darix> no
18:55 <apokryphos> I'm sure that won't be too hard 8)
18:55 <darix> no music for henne
18:55 <darix> apokryphos: indeed :)
18:56 @<henne> okay any questions about that?
18:56 <localhorst> no
18:56 @<henne> adrianS is about to eat my inexistent hair
18:56 <darix> phase 1 is functional but needs polishing here and there (i am not good in nice writing.)
18:56 <darix> and we are still looking for a slogan for the header
18:57 @<Beineri> "Get Listed"
18:57 <darix> something like "Get it!" on software.opesuse.org
18:57 <darix> Beineri: naw
18:57 @<henne> darix: can you write up a summary for opensuse-project or something before you roll it out?
18:57 <darix> i dont like that.
18:57 <localhorst> support it!
18:57 <darix> henne: sure.
18:57 <darix> localhorst: better
18:57 @<henne> because people already reffering to it everywhere
18:57 @<Beineri> join it!"
18:57 <darix> henne: they refer to nonexistant stuff?:)
18:57 @<henne> darix: yes
18:57 <darix> dangling symlinks :p
18:57 <AJaeger> vapourware ;-)
18:58 <darix> AJaeger: naw! it exists! i can click on it:p
18:58 <aka_druid_> use the orkut slogan: who do you know. ANd hoe google doesnt sue
18:58 @<Beineri> "Mugshot yourself!"
18:58 @<henne> darix: anyway. it needs some clarification soon
18:58 @<Beineri> "Launch Here!"
18:58 <darix> i think i will start the slogan discussion on -project
18:59 @<henne> so are there any other questions? before we completely drift into talk mode
18:59 <apokryphos> oh boy
18:59 <darix> apokryphos: not?:)
18:59 @<Beineri> apokryphos: objection against that ;-)
18:59 <darix> apokryphos: i will set a deadline
18:59 <apokryphos> darix: I'm sure it'll be better for getting good ideas =)
18:59 <darix> and choose the best one.
18:59 <darix> :)
19:00 <darix> thoough
19:00 <apokryphos> !yo
19:00 <SUSEhelp> openSUSE - German Engineering in da house yo. Representing Deutschland.
19:00 @<henne> AI darix. start userdir slogan thread on -project
19:00 @<henne> jeez
19:00 <darix> oO
19:00 <darix> phase 2 will be freenode cloaks
19:00 @<henne> So that was it. If you have more, dont hesitate to bring it up on the appropriate mailinglist.
19:00 @<henne> The next meeting will be at the 26th of September. Same time, same channel.
19:00 @<henne> Thank you all for participating. Good night and good luck!
