Pemilihan Versi

Untuk kemudahan anda, projek-projek openSUSE menyediakan dua versi berbeza openSUSE yang boleh anda muaturun, install dan mendistribusikan semula.

Released Version

Whether you use your computer to communicate with friends, relatives, or colleagues, manage and enjoy your pictures and music, browse the Internet for the latest news or information, write a report or budget, or host a Personal Web Site or home network, you'll find everything you need in openSUSE 10.2. It is the most recent stabilized, fully integrated edition of openSUSE. If you are looking for a stable version of Linux to run on your personal computer or home server, this is the best choice.

For more information about openSUSE 10.2 please visit our product information pages or check the reviews and screenshot galeries of openSUSE. DistroWatch has a version list of the main openSUSE 10.2 packages, a shorter list is also part of the Product Highlights description. The Release Notes are available online, too.

openSUSE contains only open source components. If needed an Add On CD can be downloaded which contains some proprietary components such as Adobe Acrobat Reader, RealNetworks RealPlayer, Sun Java Runtime Environment, Macromedia Flash Player etc.

Depending on the speed of your Internet connection, it may take several hours to download openSUSE. If you prefer to avoid a lengthy download process, you may purchase a copy of openSUSE 10.2 with a printed manual (Start-Up guide) and free installation support at a retail shop, a web store, or directly from Novell.

Development Version

Factory, Alpha, Beta or RC?

  • Factory is the day to day state of the work, changing each day. Details here.
  • Alpha indicates a very early release, which is probably quite buggy.
  • Beta indicates an early release, with which many people can work and report bugs, but is still not for production use.
  • RC (Release Candidate) indicates that few or no bugs remain, and if nothing is wrong, it will be renamed to GM (Gold Master) as a future final release.

If you intend to test for bugs or contribute patches, choose this version of openSUSE. Currently, a development stream of openSUSE 10.3 is available for your review. This is an unsupported, open source only, preliminary edition of openSUSE that contains bleeding-edge packages and represents the latest development snapshot. Please read the Most Annoying Bugs before you decide to download and test it.

To provide users the best download experience, Novell and openSUSE.org relies on the support of mirror sites worldwide. As a service to the Linux community and other communities, these sites, many of them at academic institutions, gather the downloadable images from vendors like Novell and from openSUSE.org and make them available to users as a free service. If you would like to join our community of mirror sites, please read our Mirror Infrastructure page.
