Version:
11.0
The information below is for openSUSE 11.0
Note: Please make a note if this works for other version of openSUSE besides 11.0
Note: The keyboard will also work without bluetooth capabilities just using normal USB HID (Human Interface Device) which is just an ordinary RF transceiver.
  • make note of the P/N number on the BlueTooth (BT) transceiver. Mine is 830000002 (ignore any dashes et al.).
  • be sure you have kdebluetooth installed
  • as root run
hid2hci

you should see some output similar to

Switching device 046d:c70a to HCI mode was successful Switching device 046d:c70e to HCI mode was successful

(your device ID may differ slightly)

  • Launch kbluetooth. You may use the Konsole, or Run command (Alt + F2)
  • You will see a small blue icon appear in the 'system tray'. Right click it and select Input Devices
  • Connect. Push red Connect button under mouse and quickly press Add New Devices. The mouse should be detected. It will ask you for permission to Allow. Press Always Allow (after all, it's just your mouse).
  • Push Red Connect button under keyboard and quickly press Add New Devices (or press Search if you are already at this step). Add the Keyboard.

IMPORTANT

  • Now carefully enter your P/N noted from Step 1. Do not enter dashes. Press OK.
  • Your keyboards LCD screen should show PASSKEY.
  • Enter the above P/N number and push ENTER button
  • End.
