Comparison of required help to complete the tasks
- To avoid "lost in frustration" and to enable the completion in an acceptable time we provided a staged system of hints. If a user was blocked, the observer gave a hint every 2 minutes with a maximum of 3 hints. The first hint was more general, the second more concrete and the third one very clear.
- It is obvious, the analysis of this non standardized hint system is very difficult and the simple count of given hints does not reflect the situative background.
- We decided to skip the counts but to provide a qualitative analysis of the user behaviour -- especially for the KDE KickOff group. Based on this, we can provide better data to enhance the current version of KickOff.
- Please be patient, this will require some additional time.
