Working Plug&Play

All of them are operating system independent, ALSA should find them right after beeing plugged in. (Class compliant usb devices) In case you need to load the needed module manually: It's usb-audio.

    • those interfaces have to modes of operation - Normal and Advanced. In Normal mode it is Plug&Play. Advanced mode is said to be faster, but it requires drivers, that are available only for Windows and Mac (at least I don't know about them). So if you want "normal" interface, there is no problem at all.
  • M-Audio Midisport UNO (newer edition, it has "Class compliant" label on its box; for some strange reason doesn't work with Yamaha keyboards)
    • additional note:M-Audio Midisport UNO (newer edition, it has "Class compliant" label on its box) works fine with my Yamaha PSS-480 keyboard. On plug-in, it appears as an Alsa device. When "Jacked" to Rosegarden, it has no problem controlling the synth.)
