Installing GRAMPS in OpenSUSE 10.3

GRAMPS is an open-source genealogy program for Linux and other UNIX-like systems. The GRAMPS name stands for Genealogical Research and Analysis Management Programming System.

It has a number of dependent packages, which need to be installed before GRAMPS itself. These can be installed using YaST. They are:

  • gnome-panel-lang
  • python-gnome-extras
  • python-ReportLab
  • python-gnome
  • python-gtk
  • python-orbit
  • python-numeric
  • pyxml
  • nautilus
  • yelp
  • scrollkeeper

Then the following RPM needs to be installed. Just click on the link and SUSE will prompt to install it with ZenInstaller.
