Installing GRAMPS in OpenSUSE 10.2

GRAMPS is an open-source genealogy program for Linux and other UNIX-like systems. The GRAMPS name stands for Genealogical Research and Analysis Management Programming System.

It has a number of dependent packages, which need to be installed before GRAMPS itself. These can be installed using YaST. They are:

gnome-doc-utils

gnome-doc-utils-devel

python-gnome

python-gnome-extras

scrollkeeper

gtkspell

pyxml

nautilus

yelp

Then the following RPMs need to be installed. Just click on the link and SUSE will prompt to install them with ZenInstaller.

http://software.opensuse.org/download/home:/rbos/openSUSE_10.2/i586/python-ReportLab-1.20-2.1.i586.rpm http://software.opensuse.org/download/home:/rbos/openSUSE_10.2/noarch/gramps-2.2.8-3.1.noarch.rpm
