Dimension 4600 10.1 Image:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.png Other XGL works after downloading and installing the NVIDIA driver. However, you will have to used the "compiz" package that is ship with SuSE Linux on the (CDROM).
Dimension 8250 10.2 Image:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.png Other Had to manually install NVIDIA driver, hotplug & hotplug-base, and had to configure alsasound in YAST system services for the SB EMU10k1X soundcard (this involved going to expert mode, checking the box for B and restarting the service. ragsx.
Dimension 8300 10.2 Image:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.png 10.2 installed with no issues.

Dimension 9150 10.3Image:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.png BIOS A05 Need BIOS A05 to work with out problems. Newer versions will not allow to detect USB keyboard. Download older BIOS from Dell ftp server if yours is newer. SUSE 10.1 and 10.2 do not have ethernet driver. Has to be downloaded from Intel web site.

Dimension E510 10.2 BIOS A07 Intel Pentium D. Got to install menu but keyboard/mouse wouldent work, could not install. DONT try this
Dimension E510 10.3 Image:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.png Intel Pentium 4HT (Prescott 630). Installs, everything detected, including Intel945 graphics and on-board (Sigmatel) sound. Runs fine.
OptiPlex GX270 w/ 82865G chipset Viewsonic VP211b Monitor 10.1 Image:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.png Other Video immediately failed after installation, leaving me with 800x600 screen. A lot of alterations later I ended up with correct setup. Briefly the steps are: (1)Updated BIOS from A03 to A07. (2) Changed BIOS video memory setting from 1 to 8 MB. (3) Tried updating drivers by installing dri-Intel*.rpm from intel site and it failed... but it did not matter as i810 was already there. (4) Downloaded 865patch along with its "865suse patch". Patched 865patch with "865suse patch" and then compiled and installed 865 patch as a service boot.865patch and rebooted. (5) Still no success in setting my display above 1024x768. Then I noticed SuSE installed a patch called 855resolutions, which I cannot uninstall as xorg depends on it. So I moved /etc/boot.videobios to /etc/boot.videobios.backup (this is installed by 855resolutions) to prevent it from changing BIOS setting that 865patch was changing during bootup. BTW with 865patch, I set video memory to 32MB. Rebooted once again. (6) Still not getting over 1024x768... Then I changed the selected monitor as Viewsonic VP201MB instead of Viewsonic VP211b. Then I could get 1600x1200. Still checking on 3D accel.
Optiplex GX280 10.2 Image:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.png Other Everything works without a glitch.
Optiplex GX520 10.1 Image:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.png Other : Bios A05, A11 On first Dell splash screen hit F2 to enter the BIOS. Change SATA Operation to Combination mode. Installation works fine after that. If you have an LCD-monitor you might have to change the resolution during the installation. When the first Suse installation screen appears hit the F3-button and change the resolution to 800x600 for example. When the installation is done change the resolution with Yast. USB keyboard does not function with BIOS A11 when trying to boot OpenSUSE 10.3.
OptiPlex GX620 w/ 945 chipset 10.1 Image:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.png Other : A11 Bios xgl works out of the box make sure to disable TPM protection in BIOS before install. A11 bios from Dell inactivate the USB keyboard in Grub. Stay up to the A10 Bios who work well
Precision 690 w/ Intel 5000X chipset 10.1 Image:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.png Other sata drives with raid 0/1 work fine. The 690 comes with a dual core x86-64 processor. You will not get the normal warning when installing the plain x86 version of Suse.
Precision 390 10.2 Image:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.png sata drives with raid 1 work correctly
Optiplex 745 10.2 Image:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.png n series Graphic Card ATI Radeon X1300 is very hard to install, first you won't get any 3D, but the graphics will flow quiet well, What I did is to start by simple resolution 800x600 then I add the ATI reps. and install the ATI drivers on the kernel, after that SuSe will reboot and tell you that the installation of the OS has failed this time will begin with the new ATI drivers and the graphic card will appear on the hardware detection.
Optiplex 320 10.2, 10.3 Image:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.png n series For 10.2 & Bios 1.1.4:Graphic ATI Radeon X300 integrated. Some fixable issues found with GRUB, SATA HD and bios clock, Use the kernel parameter linux pci=nomsi; and Lilo boot loader. More information of how to resolve them here [1] http://www.suseforums.net/index.php?showtopic=34172

For 10.3 & Bios 1.1.10: ACPI issues, had to use acpi=off when booting, otherwise it won't boot properly. Everything else works including GRUB. Opti.320 not the best choice. ~ragsx~.

Dimension E520n 10.2 Image:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.png n series 10.2 install does not recognize USB keyboard (Hold Shift key down when booting into install will allow use of the keyboard). Using nVidia 256mb Video Card NV drivers are not recognized, do not install the nvidia repostery until SuSE and Nvidia solve this problem.
Dimension E52110.2 (X86-64)Image:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.png USB mouse and keyboard Image:22px-Tick.png The BIOS must be upgraded from version 1.0.3 (2006-10-02) to 1.1.4 (2007-01-01). Before upgrading the BIOS I experienced frequent mouse and rare keyboard lockups. I still need to use kernel option "acpi=noirq" to boot successfully. "Turn Off Computer" and "Suspend" works in KDE. When the machine is waking up from "Suspend", it gives an error message occasionally: "Suspend Failed". SOUND OUTPUT WORKS, but sound inputs (line and microphone) do not work (using the integrated sound card).

SYSTEM INFORMATION: Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+ Kernel: Linux 2.6.18.2-34-default x86_64

Optiplex 755N,DualCore E2160 10.3 Image:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.pngImage:22px-Tick.png Monitor DELL E178FPW Video cart ATI RADEON X1300 support 3D using http://www2.ati.com/suse/10.3/ repository. I ended using 32bits OS version instead of 64 due to issues when installing java (jre 1.6) plugin for FireFox. Overall works great. ~ragsx~.
