Setting Preferences
- Firstly in Local Indexing We can Specify the Search Locations and the items to be indexed.
- We can even exclude some folders from being indexed. This is really helpful if we do not want to index some files which are private or confidential.
- In the Second Tab of Preferences window there is an option to index even a gmail account. To use this feature we need to provide a valid user name and password.
- The Third tab is the "Display" tab where we can configure the hot key combination for the Google Desktop Apps and also some other useful features such as no. of searches to be displayed per page or Google Integration etc.
- Lastly in the "Other" Tab we can opt to send anonymous usage data to Google for further improvement and enhancement of the software
