GNOME/Bug topic weeks

From openSUSE

Bug topic weeks are weeks or fortnights where we gather all the bugs in a certain topic and try tofix as many of them as possible. For example, we could try to fix all the bugs concerning multiple monitors, or a bunch of accessibility bugs.

The advantage of gathering bugs together is that you have the code fresh in your head, people can contribute with testing or with fixes, and things happen more rapidly than with regular, unstructured bug fixing.

How bug topic weeks work

There is a mentor, or an expert in the topic for that week, who can review patches that people submit.

The mentor creates a package in the Build Service which people can test.

The mentor integrates hackers' patches into this package, and testers test it.

There is a wiki page for each bug topic week so that people can coordinate.
