openSUSE Chameleon

Better branding by using only the official chameleon as chameleon and adopt default fonts. The current quality of branding for distributions is not smooth on these points and varies to much. One moment it makes the distribution look rock solid professional SUSE, the other is tends to give an amateuristic look and feel to the distribution with less SUSE characteristics.

A better looking default icon set. I know it's a silly one but "Industrial"? was it selected by default isn't, in my opinion, very attractive! Especially when one considers the default icon set in Ubuntu and the proposed new icon theme for Fedora.

Maybe options for the user login screen instead of just a plain blue screen, something to make people say wow, what is that. That is no kidding the reaction my friends said to Fedora Core 6 when they saw it, dont get worried, I definately like Suse better, but I still had to compare the two.

Application Browser

In Gnome, in the application browser, when you choose an application group the window should change size to fit all the applications in that group in the window, instead of just highlighting those particular apps.

Simple File Structure

A directory system that helps new users understand where files are located on the system like gobolinux.

Themes / Wallpapers

We should add some "extreme" themes. The themes we currently supply are more "corporate" than anything. Something like this one, for GNOME, would be nice: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=46153

We should look at making YaST themable. It would be nice to have the same sort of theme for YaST as the rest of the desktop.

There is much improvement that can be done with the wallpapers supplied. Why not include wallpapers such as the ones here: http://www.novell.com/company/logo/index.html?#team and http://www.novell.com/company/logo/index.html?#wallpaper

'Easy Management of compiz xgl axgl
I didn`t know exactly where to put my "wishlist" and there, ups here it is...

Because a lot of people are used to do things in grafical way, with wizards and menus, and I myself find it more accesabile I would suggest to see after an open suse 10.3 defalut install, a button like Ubuntu or a mechanism like in Sabayon to easy manage the switch between xgl-axgl, Compiz / Compiz-Fusion / Beryl Button in KDE or Gnome Application`s menu, or in Control Center, or in Yast. Anyway somewhere easy to be find.

I don`t know exacty how this "XGL/AXGL/COMPIZ" dose work but I would like to work both with KDM and GDM. Also, about KDE and GDM I would like to see more login themes to can choose from by defalut.

I didn`t haved the opportunity to use to mutch KDE/Gnome, and I`m not very used with them, but I did spend about 30 minutes to find the menu where I could Test and switch the login theme menu on this beta/test release, but I know I did find it very easy on another distro (mandriva/fedora/freeBSD/PC-BSD/ubuntu).
