Appliances are always created either by cloning an existing appliance or cloning a base template.
If you are a starter, SUSE Studio will offer the create appliance dialog directly. In the following dialog select your
- base system,
- your architecture and
- edit the name proposal (this can be changed later too).
If you already own some appliances click on "Create new appliance..." in the upper right area.
In the next step you will be guided to the SUSE Studio appliance editor. It will start with the "Start" tab:

You like the name you are given, or do not know which name to choose, you can leave the name as it is for now (you can always change it later) and start selecting the software your appliance will have by going to
