Making SUSEgreeter appear or not appear as default is quite simple. SUSEgreeter is configured on a user basis. So the easiest way to achieve it is by copying the file ~/.kde/share/config/SUSEgreeterrc from another kde where it happens the desired behaviour. Use the "Overlay files" tab in order to upload this file.
Other customizations can happen on this same file. If you want that to happen for new users, copy it to /etc/skel .
