Bug Slashing

From openSUSE

(Redirected from Bugslashing)
Geeko You can directly contribute to the openSUSE distribution by getting involved on Bug Slashing days. On these days we'll try to all collaborate in dealing with bugs and clearing up the Bugzilla. Bug triaging efforts are encouraged all the time however in the #opensuse-factory channel all the time.

Bugs, Bugs, Bugs

Call for Testing

HAL

  • The new HAL version unfortunately missed the deadline and we did not want to rush it in late. So we’re asking everyone to test the HAL update from home:/dkukawka:/hal-beta/openSUSE_Factory/ after installation and test if their devices are correctly recognized, if your burn applications behave correctly, etc. Our internal QA will do the same and we will integrate this into Factory as soon as possible. Let us know in the channel how things went for you!

Libzypp (Package Management)

  • Libzypp has progressed an awful lot since the late alphas, but please try to really test-it-out in various situations.

Live CDs

Tasks

  • Have any old 10.0 bugs? Do they still apply in 11.0? If so, leave a comment in the bug report. If you didn't file it, can you reproduce their bug? If so, mention it in the bug report.
  • Can you reproduce any bugs in NEEDINFO? If so, try to provide the appropriate information if it appears that someone else hasn't.
  • If any bug has been in the NEEDINFO status for longer than a few weeks than try to prompt the user to remind them about it. If it's been open for longer than a month with NEEDINFO then you should consider closing it if you cannot reproduce it.
