Installation

  • Bug #551642 : When updating a 11.1 from the DVD, kernel-pae-base (or kernel-default-base) is not removed. zypper dup from the online repository works ok. Workaround: Deselect kernel-pae-base manually (In the Update Overview, click Packages, go to the Installation Overview tab, select Show packages with status [X] Keep, scroll down to kernel-pae-base and deselect it).
  • Bug #546575 : While upgrading from 11.1 (or older) a typo in /etc/sysconfig/network/scripts/convert_persistent_name_rules might result in a line containing ATTRS{address}=="<MAC_ADDRSSS_OF_A_NIC> instead of ATTR{address}=="<MAC_ADDRSSS_OF_A_NIC>" in /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules. You must apply this manual change before you start a remote network based upgrade. Else you risk to lose the network connectivity afterwards.
