Installation/Boot/Repair

  • Bug #547959 : Yast repairer unable to repair boot configuration - device.map error. Workaround: when the dialog box says not to repeair is the system seems to boot, do not let YaST repairer fix grub/boot problems. Fix manually.
  • Bug #465125 : Install DVD "repair system" fails "boot installed system" and "install new boot loader". May be same cause as Bug #547959

Package Management

  • Bug #457281: Qt YaST UI is unbearable slow when listing many packages, Fix: run online update
  • Bug #459268 : YaST is not able to use repositories to solve dependencies of a local package. Workaround: from command line as root: zypper in /path/to/package.rpm

GNOME

  • Bug #438071: Default desktop icons cannot be deleted by normal user
  • Bug #445923: GTK file dialog starts extremely small and changes size/position in Firefox/Gimp/..., Fix: run online update

KDE

  • Bug #458323 : Installing KDE4 from DVD/FTP unnecessarily installs the kdebase3 package, Fix: zypper remove -n kdebase3
  • Bug #450318 : Amarok2 doesn't use MySQL embedded to build collections, Fix: run online update
  • Bug #438956 : kdebluetooth does not work with 11.1 bluez libraries, Fix: run online update
  • Bug #447903: KDE3 screensaver can't be configured if Gnome is installed. Workaround:
    mkdir /opt/kde3/share/applnk/apps
    ln -s ../System/ScreenSavers /opt/kde3/share/applnk/apps/

System

  • Bug #408252 : Problems accessing DVD drive from different applications as normal user, Fix: run online update

PPC

  • Bug #431505 Network installation stops with "Unknown Application blocks storage subsystem" after a "undefined symbol: _nc_free_tinfo" on system console, regulary seen on 64bit PowerPC systems. Workaround: do a DVD installation, or stick with 11.0.
  • Bug #460697 Online repositories point to http://download.opensuse.org/ instead of http://powerpc.opensuse.org/ Workaround: update repository URL in YaST2
