Introduction and Biography

I'm 30 years old man from finland. I have been using SuSE since 5.2 (1998) and linux have been my major OS since 1998. Now a days I work small company (which I partly own) that make embbeded Linux develoment.

Major Issues

• To make openSuSE best embbeded platform for developers on earth
  • It doesn't matter which processor (ARM, Mips or anything), platfrom (Android, Symbian or even winCE) openSuSE should provide tools out of the box
  • GPE,Hildon,Qtopia should be provided, so one can develope apps for them
• To make openSuSE most popular choice in developing open/closed source apps.
  • No more talk about GTK/QT. They are just toolchains.
  • Mission critical parts. What is missing?
    • Documentation!
    • Tutorials
    • Get schools with this
• Promote LSB! It's important part of openSUSE and other Linux distros success

Minor Issues

Everything should work out of the box. If user needs to pop some text editor and edit files somewhere openSuSE have failed. It should be idiot proof.

• openSuSE should have somekind of real world hardware testing initiavie
  • To collect real user experiences
  • Get out of everything from linux kernel
• Integrate bluetooth more
  • Get YaST really do the job
    • How to set up you headphone
    • How to get you mobilephone call to internet
    • How to set up A2DP server for mobilephone or some else A2DP machine
• Iron out everything from pulseaudio (Which is great) get ALSA stuff done so every card works with pulseaudio out of the box

Role of the board

Visionair.. Not really doing something just try make people get involved.

Aims/Goals

1. GPE
2. Hildon
3. Bluetooth
4. Kernel module instalation more smooth and automatic (It's now very good but more real world stuff please!)
5. Docs. Docs. Docs.
