SuSE Linux 6.4 was released on Thursday, March 9, 2000. SuSE Linux 6.4 included ReiserFS as its default filesystem. (which remained in place until openSUSE 10.2) and YaST2 for the desktop. It was proceeded by SuSE Linux 6.3 and succeeded by SuSE Linux 7.0 on September 27, 2000. A month before this release the name Geeko became the official name for the chameleon mascot. SuSE Linux 6.4 reached its End of Lifetime on June 17, 2002.
