The ARCH Team (also called Architecture Maintenance) is taking care of adapting SUSE Linux to platforms other than run-off-the-mill PC systems. We currently support AMD64 and EM64T, Itanium, POWER/PowerPC (32 and 64 bit) and zSeries. Our job is to implement platform-specific solutions, fix platform-specific bugs and generally ensure that SUSE Linux remains a highly portable operating system.
The old Arch Team has been split and now consists of two teams:
- ARCH Team I (Userspace)
- Stefan Fent, Team Leader (x86_64)
- Torsten Duwe (x86_64)
- Frank Doege (s390, sys-/netadmin)
- John Jolly (zSeries)
- Olaf Dabrunz (PowerPC)
- Philipp Thomas (x86_64, whatever is needed)
- Stefan Assmann (PowerPC)
- Andreas Schwab (Itanium)
- Ulrich Hecht (zSeries, ARM)
- ARCH Team II (Kernel)
- Alexander Osthof, Team Leader (x86_64)
- Bernhard Walle (x86_64)
- Dr. Hannes Reinecke (zSeries, Alpha)
- Olaf Hering (PowerPC)
- Raymund Will (Itanium)
- Tejun Heo (x86_64)
- Thomas Renninger (x86_64)
