tagline: From openSUSE
Welcome to the 11.1 Portal edit
openSUSE 11.1 was released on Thursday, December 18th, 2008. This older version of openSUSE improved once computing experience with more than 230 new features (compared with openSUSE 11.0), including KDE4 and new and re-written YaST modules. It was the first release built entirely in the openSUSE Build Service! It is the last release to feature KDE 3.
The software to start with openSUSE 11.1 can be still be downloaded from software.opensuse.org.
In January 2011 the official maintenance for openSUSE 11.1 reached its end.
The project Evergreen is a community effort to prolong maintenance (mainly with bug fixes) after this period of time. If interested in details for participation in that project please take a closer look at the Evergreen project page. 11.1 support from Evergreen has also basically stopped meanwhile.
openSUSE 11.1 was succeeded by openSUSE 11.2 on November 12, 2009.
