10 Things
From openSUSE
1. Kde Support You even have the newest KDE release easily accessible as a backport
2. Interesting Mix of People The hobbyist meets some of the best Linux developers here. If you follow openSUSE factory this has some astonishing results: big tasks are ready in just a few days if Novell has an interest. (I never thought zypper as a distribution/release upgrade tool would make it this year!) The difficulty of such a mix of people is: the Novell professionals know what they want and what they are interested in, while hobbyists sometimes need to discuss for weeks to get the picture.
3. New Features But Working This is a stable work-horse of a distribution. Using openSUSE you will get the hot stuff a little later than Fedora but working and earlier than Debian!
... to be continued
Some bad:
1. this wiki is mostly out of date. There should be more people just writing stuff, if error free or not...
